HELP TRIBAL CHILDREN
Help tribal children is about improving the quality of education of tribal children through tuition and remedial classes in Dadhwada - a rural district in S. Gujarat, India
The literacy rate in the villages of Dadhwada is 58.9 % which is much below India's literacy rate at 74.04%
The Society of the Daughters of the Cross Community run the Project "Navchetna Kendra" - a public trust registered NGO at Dadhwada in a remote and rural part of South Gujarat. The Project looks after supplementing the educational needs of these primary school Children and getting them ahead to a good start in life.!

The Navchetna Kendra Community run the Tuition class project in 7 villages of Dadhwada Mission in S.Gujarat, India. We would like to extend this project to five more villages and request your financial support for the children of the Adivasi community of Dadhwada. With your help we will be able to better equip about 300 children with tuition and remedial skills to help them gain admission into mainstream schools.
Dr Sr.Annette Fernandes, the Project Director and an alumnus of SJMC Bangalore, is a clinician with a deep commitment to tribal community health and education. She has volunteered in times of crises like the Orissa Super Cyclone and Gujarat Communal riots and has received a number of awards from the Gujarat Government. She was recently awarded the Mary Glowrey Award for her services in the tribal areas of S.Gujarat for 'reaching out to the unreached in Health Care'.
How to help !
The Project is to be run for 3 yrs (2017-2020) and we are in urgent need of funds to pay the salary of 12 teachers and one teacher-Coordinator for this period of time.
